Hi, I'm Trevor - I moved to Delray from Michigan with only a suitcase and feeling rather lost. I love all things science, but never found something I was passionate about. While working in hospitality to support myself, I found an interest in gardening and plant care as it is therapeutic for me. I soon realized not only the benefits of microgreens themselves as a nutrient dense superfood, but the effects it has had on my overall eating habits by developing a healthier relationship with food. From stumbling into growing microgreens as a hobby and sharing with encouraging friends, Little Lush Acres was born. The way I share microgreens now may have changed, but the attention, love, and care into growing them has not.
Growing Practices
All seeds are heirloom, non-GMO, and from an accredited source that tests for all things non-groovy such as pathogens. They are handled and sowed utilizing a background in biomedical laboratory practices and restaurant food handling experience in conjuction with mindful growing supplies/techniques. This is achieved by using BPA-Free growing trays, only organic products listed by the Organic Materials Review Institute such as washed/shredded coconut husk and soil, and filtered water to remove contaminants like chlorine/chloramine. With all of this being said, all greens are grown indoors under climate controls to help ensure you receive a clean, quality product. Unlike most mass-produced crops that travel many miles to superstores, these premium greens are almost as farm to table as one can get and last longer in your fridge.
